Starting problem
Hi gys.
I have a problem with my 7 RX Turbo II 1987, Sometimes, when turning the ignition key, it does not ignite and it makes a sound click, click, After several attempts starter it works and it ignites, The battery and starter are new but it continues the problem.
My best friend has the same problem in his 1988 7 RX too.
Somebody knows what is the cause? Some aid?
Thanks

It sounds like you have dirty battery terminals .. remove both battery cables ground first then positive, clean both battery posts and cables, hook them back up and try it .. Put the positive post on first then the ground .. Make sure the ground cable on the engine and the positive on the starter are tight and clean ..

If the terminals and starter connections are good, you may have this problem: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/ive-solves-2nd-gen-sticky-starter-mystery-896013/. Go to post 39 for my relay fix to the "click no-start" problem.

My battery is new a big gel one, all battery terminal are clean and in good condition, I add ground cables from engine to chasis and negative battery.
I think the problem is a relay or the clutch switch.
Thanks guys,
RotaryRocket88, nice post and help Thanks

RR88's cure is for sure the way to go.
If you want to better understand the illness, read post 29. This sort of thing on 20+ year old cars unfortunatley isn't unusual for the reasons mentioned. Not many realize that electricity travels along the surface of the wiring, not the middle like water through a pipe.
