Unhappy startin problems on new engine

I stuck a new eninge in my 86 gxl. I put the battery in and i get the leads switched. My main fuse blew. got it replaced got the leads on right and i try to start it. after a bit of crankin she woulnt even pop. i primed the fuel system. tryed it, not a single pop. i check the plugs they are dry. it has over 6 gallons of fuel in her. i check to see if it got fuel to the fuelrail by pullin one of the lines off and fuel came out. is there an other fuse that blew when i had the battery switched?. i have been to busey with my new FD that i havent put much time in to the 86 any help would be great

ya i did the same thing on my 86, well actually my friend did, i switched them back an it started right up...switch the fuel lines an try it, if that doesnt work, check every fuse in the car. if all your fuses are good, check the wireing for you fuel pump, not that i think you would ever have to tho

Make sure you have Spark, Fuel and Compression.
Check to make sure you got these 3 things down.

I have heard of ecu's getting fried by backwards batteries. IF you cant get fuel/spark after tinkering a while, this might be something to try.

she gets spark, it has tons of compression (new engine) but no gas!!!!! i switch the fuel lines but it dint do any thing i have a fuel problem its like the injectors are not opening. it had pressure in the fuel line after 2 days of not crankin, it sprayed nicely on to my shop floor.

You won't have tons of compression on your new engine until it's broken in
