88 handling

I am rebuilding an 88 rx7 and want to make it handle really well. Besides replacing the strut bars and shocks what else. I want to put on the best shocks/suspension system I can. When I look for rx7 shocks all I find are lowering springs. I don’t want to lower the car anymore. thanks

bushings are def. a must as well.
as far as "handle really well", you may have to be a bit more specific. What do you plan on using the car for mostly? autox, daily driver, etc?

An LSD (possibly from a GTU) sure as hell would help. Assuming u dont have one already.

This will be a everyday driving car. But I drive pretty hard and will also take it to the track. I don’t want to spend a great deal of money. If you could tell me about how much it would cost to do what you are saying and how it would help that would be great. I like to take turns really fast and I don’t want to bottom out so the shocks need to be really stiff. Also what dose lcd and gtu mean. I am new to the world of rx7’s and this is the first car I have really worked on. Good first choice I might add. Thanks. This also has to be something I can do at home.

Well, I can answer 2 of those quesitons

LSD: Limited Slip Differential

GTU: A Model of the RX-7, such as GXL (luxury model) TurboII (self explainatory) etc etc.

I dont know the best definition of limited slip, other than if one wheel loses traction, it switches power to the other wheel, am I correct? I never really knew a definitive definition for LSD.

There's a lot you can do for the handling. Not only can you replace your shocks and struts, and bushings as mentioned earlier, but also your camber links, lateral links, wheel bearings (if yours are shot), better tires, etc......lots to do! heheh
