Was it doing this before you replace the starter? If not it sounds like the soleniod in the starter might be flakey. If you got a reconed one it might be bad, take it back and get another.

Make sure the bolts didn't back out on ya. If it is bad I am sure they will take it back, and atleast get you another one, prolly not a refund though.

Sure you didn't get the bolts mixed up or something? I seem to remember them being different sizes, though it has been like 3 years since I touched a TII with a wrench.

Sounds to me like you need a new solenoid, or new cables.

Ok, I guess its not the cables. You should have your battery tested. Most corner auto stores have a tester. Some of the testers can even check your charging system. That'd be a place to start.

I would have the charging system checked on the car, you can go to autozone and the likes. You battery may be a little bit discharged if it shows 12.4 at rest. Have it fully recharged and see if pb goes away. The alt seems to be ok though since you get 14+ when idling. You can do an additional check on the alt and turn on headlights when idling, it should drop a tad and then go back up right away.

I remember reading a thread about your problem some time ago. Like you turn the key, it goes click click, and then finally cranks. I think the fellows with the problem had changed anything you can think of, and nothing. There was apparently no solution to the problem.
I am sure if you do a search on 'starter', you'll find it.
