starter died again

My replacement starter is only 2 months old...

I have power, and when I turn on my headlights and try to crank, my headlights aren't dimming at all from the power transfer, so does that mean it could be an electrical problem? I have my car jacked up and have gone over the wires under the car, everything APPEARS to be plugged in fine.

What could cause this?

I tried to look for my receipt for the part, but only found the box for it, not sure why it isn't with the box.

Called up car quest, and they said there's nothing they can do without it either.

Did you hook up the ground correctly?

I mean, as in its not flopping around and worked for a while till something knocked the ground off whatever it was grounding too.

It attaches to the long bolt on the upper left side of the starter.

Check to see that you have enough power at the starter with a voltmeter. If you do take off the starter and bring it to the parts store to get bench tested. They should be able to work with you if you don't have the receipt. Do you know what day you bought it from them? Have them look up your invoice in their computer.

BTW, what do you have a 1MZFE in? That's one mean engine, especially with a TRD supercharger.

I don't have a voltmeter unfortunately, I just have the basic tools you need haha...

I called the store, they have no record of the invoice, my names not in their system apparently, even though I just bought it 2 months ago.

I had a 1MZFE VVTi in my old Avalon, was making a bit over 200hp, however it started to have problems, so I sold it to a friend for cheap.

Great car, smoked a LOT in it.

Have them look it up by the part number, and how many they sold two months ago. Or did you pay by credit or debit? That will have a paper receipt from the bank that might work. It sounds like they are just being lazy.

Off topic; I have a old camry with the 1mzfe in it and it pretty bad, they had 202 ft lbs of torque from the factory. 145mph with four men was easy to jump up to. Some guys are around the 400hp mark on auto trans in a few camrys, talk about a sleeper. I am holding on to it in hopes of coming across a mr2 with a shot engine for the swap.

Oh I loved the engine, it was great to be able to smoke a lot of cars that never saw it coming, only got mine up to 134 however.
