It Started Now What

ok dammit i finally got my 87 tII started but it ran like **** and after a while it cut off. i got fuel in it that has sat there for like atleast 6 months. would that have anything to do with it?? also the turbo got like red hot in like 2 min. i just had it idling revvin it up. the turbo was jumping up to about 28 lbs. the turbo turns freely and the teeth r ok. so what causes it to run hot. oil? do u think if i change the fuel filter that will help also?? im thinking about dropping the tank. it revved to about 5 or 6 then sparks started coming out the exhaust

Hmm, the turbo would get red hot if your running with a clogged cat...check the turbo for play? Is it getting adequate oil?
