Stainless oil lines question

What metric adapters are needed if you are using AN fittings to mate to the stock locations on the block, front cover, and oil cooler?

That info is available on the Mazdatrix site.

The oil cooler and rear housing are M18x1.5... so 3 in total.
The front cover is M16 x 1.5... so 1 in total.

I don't like the fittings on the braided lines that mazdatrix sells... those 90 degree bends (The ones that thread into the oil cooler), although better than banjo bolts, are a significant source of pressure drop.

If you're serious about your oiling system (high revs, 8000+), go to -12 lines, and minimize the bends at the fittings.

You'll need about 5 feet of hose for stock length lines.

Thanks for the help. This is not for use on a performance car, just a normal street driven car. I need to replace the failing stock lines and thought this would be an upgrade. I would order Corksport's stock fitting SS lines but they are out of stock until the middle of January. That is too long to wait for this to get fixed.

One other thing... I read a post by someone that they had to move their oil cooler towards the passenger side to get their homemade SS lines to fit. I measured the clearances on the oil cooler and got like 2.75 inches for the bottom and almost 2 inches for the top. Should that be enough because I really do not want to have to shove the oil cooler over to make these fit.

I dont see why you would have to move the oil cooler..just make sure the lines are long enough to reach the front cover and the rear iron.

No need to move the oil cooler.
For stock style replacements, if you're dead set on making your own and not using racing beats, use the 4 adaptors I mentioned above, 2 90 degree fittings (rear iron, lower oil cooler), 1 45 degree fitting (front cover), and 1 120 tight-radius fitting (top of oil cooler). Use 10-AN hose.
I prefer russell fittings.

Thanks for the information. Yeah, I would prefer to use Corksport's stock fitting ones but the wait is just too long and RB's are too expensive.

Summit Racing:
EAR-9919FFJERL ( 1 @ 14.39)
EAR-9919FFKERL ( 3 @ 14.39 each)
RUS-610180 ( 2 @ 19.88 each)
RUS-632160 ( 1 @ 36.88)
RUS-610110 ( 1 @ 17.95)
RUS-613420 ( 1 @27.39)

$179.54 + $8.95 handling. No shipping charges.

You can get the metric fittings cheaper (first two items), but they would be different colours...

So you'll save around $20 over the RB lines and adaptors ($202 + shipping), but have to deal with assembling your own lines).
But they would flow better.
