sputtering

so i just replaced my fp in my tII with an fd fuel pump over 2 weeks ago and it's been running amazing....well, until now.

i drove it to class today and it was fine, but while leaving, i sputtered in first gear at 3500rpms and i wanted to shoot someone. so i drive some more and head off to work delivering pizzas...which sucked tonight.

instead of idling at 1100 like it used to, now it's idling at about 500-600 and sputters. it sounds like it's misfiring when i rev up in neutral.

at 10% throttle im okay, sputters a little, but okay.

at 15% throttle im at sputter central

but at about 75% throttle im okay..just like 10%

when i sputter, my afr reads lean (naturally)

in second gear at 3800-4100 rpms i sputter hardcore.

injectors? sparkplugs? ideas?

shitty highway. the afr will go to lean if i give it too much or too little throttle...stoich when i give it just the right amount.

ill check for vacuum leaks tomorrow when it's light out

Check your TPS, AFM, and the connections on your fuel injectors. Also, do a leak test on your air inlet duct and all of the larger vacuum lines. I think one of those items may be the culprit. Good luck!

so im going to the store to pick up new plugs.

ive searched but found mostly spark plug setups for 12a's.

what should i use for leading? BUR7EQ ?

what should i use for trailing? BUR9EQ ?

stock 13bt

NGK BR8EQ14?

and do the fuel injector cleaner additives (ie. chevron techron) actually work?

I put a little MMO in the tank just on the idea of thinking it will clean things up a little bit. Then, I plan to put a little 2 stroke oil in to oil things. The next step (after cleaning the intank filter and a new fuel filter) is to take out the injectors and send them away to a guy who cleans them. I think it is around $40. He is talked about on here so he should be easy to find.

ok here's a little update. the car takes about 5-6 seconds to hit redline in neutral.

i put chevron techron in the gas tank and im letting it run right now.

add coolant light pops on and off, but has been doing that for the past 2 or 3 weeks and i've burped and added coolant in the overflow and neck.

i did a compression check by ear. i unplugged the leading trailing plug and got even pulses and same with the rear.

psh...psh...psh...psh..kinda like that

changed spark plugs 7's in lead and they only had one 9 for trailing and i have to pick the other one up tonight. all plugs had a lot of carbon deposit and **** on them. the only plug that wasnt new is the trailing rotor 1 plug.

i unplugged the trailing plug from rotor 1 and nothing changed performance wise..it revved the same. i think the same goes for rotor 2 trailing. coil and ignitor busted? when i unplugged the wires, i still saw arcs.

rotor 1 leading plug had a good amount of oil on it.....

not the AFM or MAFS whatever mazda calls it. i unplugged it and it got worse

fuel filter coming in tonight.
