I went out and cleaned up the front housing and I see the same thing.
the good of the frt housing
Now on to the clean rotors (I think a good soak will bring osme of the color back and then one more hit with the wire brush after they soak for a a while)
Anywho so what do I do.. replace the housing or are they good housings?

I can't believe we didn't see that before. You could smooth it out and use it but you run the risk of catching and apex seal on the corner. That sucks, I thought they were almost mint.
If it were me, I would use a dremmel and smooth it out. But I think with the quality of build you are attempting, new housings might be the way to go.

DO NOT attempt to grind on rotorhousings with a dremel tool if you do not know what you are doing. There is no need to attempt to smooth or polish this defect.
This is VERY mild wear on these housings and is 100% perfectly reuseable. If you decide not to use these then I will give you something for them.

I will make a decision in the next few days... after I get some more pics.. I do plan to beat the **** out of this motor after I get the break in period done.. (12 sec car eventually)
I want to make sure my build last long enough and will put up with the abuse I plan to dish out

OK some time has passed, I have had a while to deliberate and figure out what is next...
I have decided to use the housings... After inspecting them in person a bit better I think they will be just fine for what I am planning..
I have since bought the following
NEW Mazda 2 piece apex seals (2mm)
New Mazda apex seal springs (inner and outter)
New Mazda side seal springs
New Mazda 93+ Corner seal springs
New japan exterior gasket set (same set as sold by atkins half the price)
This weekend I will start wire wheeling all the plates and housings and getting them prepped for paint... After painted I will begin on doing the Street port.
Once the street port is completed hopefully I will have ALL my internal stuff so I can start on assembly...
I will update this weekend with progress pics of the cleaning and parts..
Sorry it has been so long but this project is now back on track.

Well after about a 2 hour bath in ATF the carbon came right off the corner seals and I was able to see that they will be just fine u to reuse... I just need to buy some plugs cause mine were toast... (yes I will be installing new plugs)

Todays updates....
Today I painted the engine rotor housings.. the pics are not great but you get the pics..
the best red I could find today in high temp paint was Chrysler Import Red (wish it was darker)
And I pulled my oil control rings out of the ATF today.. I wiped them off, cleaned the carbon off of them and put them in a bucket of oil to soak... after they were in the oil for 20 minuted I pulled them out and put them in a ziplock bag (still coated in oil) and have them stored until I get to that parts f the build

FYI the plugs in the cornerseals dont do jack **** IMO. Compression is the same with or w/o them, and carbon buildup under the apex seal ends is the same with or w/o them as well. Spend the 20 bucks on a steak dinner for your wife. I havent put a set of rubber plugs back into an engine since 2001.

Oh, apparently you're not familiar with the '91 Rx7 SS model. I would have thought someone with your experience would have run across a few of them over the years...
