ok I pulled the turbo... the leak was coming from the oil drain.. easy fix...

here is what I see when I pulled the turbo off and started the car...

the first video is of the car just starting up then reving, unfortunatley the towel it was sitting on covered up the lens when I started to rev the car .

the second video is of the car just idling.. I stuck it down by the opening and then pulled away so u could see the smoke coming out of the engine bay

so are we thinking maybe the oil control ring spring may be moving and causing a leak.. or is this not that bad since I only have about 2 hours of running on it...

the liquid u see by the manifold is coolant.. I don't see any liquid oil coming out of the manifold.. and both the outlet of the turbo was dry and the cat was dry...

Yeah, looks like an oil control ring problem, and rotor hosuing to LIM coolant o-ring isn't sealing.

what makes u think the lim o-ring is bad?

its not going through coolant..

as for the smoke it is going away its not nearly as bad and I think the reason why is because I am premixing and I figured I had a couple gallon of gas in my car so I added 5 gal of premium and 8oz of 2 cycle and I think that is where most the oil is coming from..

I put 4 gallons in earlier and about 3oz of oil and it is starting to not smoke nearly as much.. I think I premixed to high..

The turbo is still leaking externally.. so I am going to have it rebuilt and then put a NEW oil drain pipe and new gaskets on it and see if that takes care of the leaking oil...

I have about 80 miles on the engine now.. it has lots of power I like the way it runs I just need to fix these few things...

Front plugs (leading plug on left, trailing on right)

What if anything does that tell you?

ok I think most of the problem is the leak in the turbo (externally) and the contaminates in the manifold

here are two pics I took tonight

back of turbo

in the exhaust manifold (see how clean the flapper is)

this makes me think I am not passing any oil out the exhaust...

looks really white like lean? heat?

the plugs on top from what i can see look like they are burning correct. it has one of the tanish appearance to it. however the front plugs look like there i some stuff on it, but that might be cuz of the compression still building up maybe.

ok leak solved...

There was a bolt head on the compressor housing that was hitting the drain pipe. This was causing the drain pipe to not sit flush on the cartridge causing a leak anytime the car was running...

I will be putting the turbo back on tonight and going for a nice drive... if everything is cool she will be on the road full time tomorrow..

Total invested 13.00 in gaskets, labor FREE (had a show I do business with check it out and fix it for me)

well no more leak... but the engine is still smoking.. and still using alot of oil...

The one thing I did not replace was the oil control rings.. looks like the groove was not good enough and the ring must have spun on the spring... causing my oil burning..

THIS SUX!

well I will be taring it down again I think to replace the

Oil control hard rings
Oil control o-rings (this time using OEM Mazda NOT viton)
Oil control o-ring springs
and then the soft seals..

I am going to continue to drive it and check my oil until I get the parts.. but hopefully by the end of the month.
