speedo cable connects where?

I removed my speedo cable to install some new gauges, but now I can't get that speedo cable back on. Is it connected somewhere in the engine bay that I can loosen it and give me some slack? Thanks.

it goes through your firewall down to the transmission. its this long bolt looking thing bout 2-3 inches long comeing off drivers side of trans size 14 open ended wrench should get it off. and there is a plastic hook that holds it to the speedometer that needs to click or it will come off.

another quick question, 'cause I'm paranoid like that. Is there a certain orientation to the cable when it plugs into the gauge cluster? Or does it work as long as it snaps in?

go buy some grease (ask the people what would be good for speedo cable grease) and pull the speedo cable out (just take it off both trans and speedo and pull the cable out, then apply grease, and you should be set.
