Speed Machine SEMA FC

We aren't quite finished yet, but this is a sample of what's to come on our SEMA car. Full details of the car to come. The car is painted with a 2 stage paint. Color is Porsche Artic Silver ^_^

Hey, that looks like a real nicely built cage (not unlike German racecar cages). Did you guys build that, or did you have a shop build it? If so, which shop?

BTW, nice choice on color!

Other than the dash and the paint, the whole car was built in house. Our fabricator does cages for stuff like Baja 1000 cars and trucks, so he is really good with cage geometry, chassis strength, driver safety etc.

Wow... words escape me. That's beautiful.

Why haven't you welded sheetmetal over the sunroof opening, or not started with a non-sunroof body? Just curious.

It has an aluminum panel under the CF cover that has threaded rod which holds it in place. The main switch panel is mounted to the top of the roll cage, so access to the wiring in the future is possible. So this allows for it. A solid top chassis would have been best, but this is going to get a street car and is what we had on hand to build

The lights are SP racing. Fitment is kinda a bitch, but the end result of them is well worth it. We didn't get our brackets that were supposed to come with them, so I made some so I can't comment on how they install with the typically included hardware. The lights are really bright when we hooked them up on the 12VDC power supply.

Very nice!!!!! I am so glad we have people representing the FC well. It cleans up very nicely for such an old car doesn't it?

Incase you don't already know, be wary of the Aeromotive A1000 pump. I have heard it drops flow at higher rail pressures and from what I have read most members here had to upgrade to Bosch from it above ~450hp. I really wouldn't trust it for your set-up even if you are using an additional pump for nitrous enrichening.

Please let me know if you have found info to contradict this as I have a A1000 I WAS going to use (doh, research first!).

Or is your A1000 the new silver model that flows more than the 2 red ones?

I like the RE Amemiya style headlight buckets in the stock bumper skin; where did you source those?

-edit- just read about the lights...

I honestly wasn't aware of any problems with the A1000 pumps so I will let you know the findings. I plan to run a surge tank setup with bosch engine pumps and the a1000 as the tank feed pump, but time just isn't on our side before the show comes.
