Spark

When cranking to start do the trailing coils/plugs fire? I can't figure out why my car won't start up. it will crank and catch a bit almost sound like it's gonna start then it won't and ends up flooding. I pulled the plugs and figured i'd see if the trailing plugs were firing. Put one up near the windsheild (grounded on the wiper, is that a good enough ground?) and i turned it over and there was no spark. are they supposed to spark while cranking>? I know someone on here knows. People on here know things i can't even imagine sometimes someone must no a question like this. . lol Thanks for the help guys.

As far as I know they do. Some people have tested the spark by disconnecting the leading igniter and starting the car on only the trailing. Pull one of the trailing plug wires off and hold it close to a ground and crank the engine. You should see spark. If you do, try replacing the plugs. Car should start with no problems on leading only though. Make certain all fuel is out of the chambers by removing the fuse, plugs, and crank the engine over to blow out the fuel. Put new plugs in and give it a try. If low on compression, you'll need to put some ATF, or whatever you choice might be, through the plug holes.
