Unhappy somethings wrong. please help.

for the past few months my car has been perminatly parked because i have attachments for traffic tickets. so almost every week i crank up my rx just to let it run for alittle while. as if that isnt bad enough last week my starter went out so ive had to push start it.

today was not good, it cranked right up like normal(except the fact that i had to push it). so i started to make the block and all of a sudden it lost power. not completly but enough to notice. then it started to backfire alot and really loud. this concerned me right away because my car never backfires. so i got back to my house and let it idle. i noticed that one of the exhaust ports wasnt blown nearly as hot as the other. because my exhaust is full duall uncollected i new it was just the one chamber. so i started to trace the pipes to see if it was the front or rear rotor housing. when i got to the header the same pipe that was blowing colder was fire red. just the one side. i was like what the ****. so of course i turned it right off.

what the hell could be wrong? oh also i smelled both of the exhaust fumes. the one that was hot smelled just fine. but the one that was blowing cold smelled just like gas.

has this happened to anybody else out there? i need help because im scared to start the car back up.

sounds like a blown rotor to me, but a compression check would tell you

Definately sounds like its running on one rotor. Do what Icemark said and hope for the best. One of the rotors might not be getting spark. Check for spark.

i dont think its a blown rotor cause the engine is still running smooth. running right at 750 rpms at idle. i do need to check spark and compression but its hard because i still need to change the starter.

if he lost the lead coil, why would only one pipe be glowing? leading fires both rotors, and trailing doesnt matter, trailing is only there for emitions. its obvious you have fuel, and you should have some kind of spark becouse the manifold is glowing, due to heat i assume....do you have cats? how old is the fuel? pull the plugs and check them,if youve just been driving around the block they could be fouled, and look at your wires to see if there in good condition, and id still do a compresion test like icemark said, good luck to you let us know whats going on.

Since you parked it did you plug up the tail pipes because you'd be amazed at the crap that crawls up there...

We found a dirt dobbers nest at the end of my exhaust on my first generation, it ran like crap until I found it and pressure washed that sumbitch! Hah
