Question Solid Dowel To Fix Cracked Rear Iron Oil Leak

Good Afternoon/Morning All,

I have a single turbo s5 fc that cracked a rear iron. Rather than replacing the iron and getting it re-ported etc. could i just replace the dowel pins with solid ones and do an external oil mod? Or will the oil still leak out from the crack in the rear iron? Any input/experience would be greatly appreciated.

It's cracked - even if you prevented the leak - therefore structurally compromised. Don't put time and money into a piece of scrap.

Yeah, even if it didn't leak oil, the end housing, which contains the stationary gear/bearing, is no longer going to be held in alignment with the rest of the engine. So it's scrap.
