Yes, it will disconnect the fan. But you don't have to remove the fan to change belts.

Yes you can. Its hard to describe but if you put the belt between 2 of the blades and turn the fan over you will be able to get the belt on the other side of the fan. < Not the best description ever but hopefully you figure it out.

Yeah you just get it over one blade at a time then turn it a bit until it's all the way over.

NJGreen, your 7 is sexy my dude haha

Ok, so I got the Alt belt on, now I'm stuck on the Air Pump Belt. One of the circle tracks it runs on is next to the intake box. Do i remove this one to get the air pump belt on? Ive been trying to undo the 3 screws attached to it but i can get the damn thing to stop rotating completely. Any suggestions?

Does any one have a diagram of how all the belts look when they are done? Just to make sure I have everything in the right track before i start her up :-)

It isn't rocket science, hon. The belts will only go on straight one way. You can call it trial and error if you wish, but it's pretty simple to figure out which belts go where just by looking at them and test fitting. If you're really concerned, you could just pay someone else to do it. But seriously...it's cake. There's nothing that needs to be removed in order to get the belts on. It all stays in there.

I'm not about to pay somebody to put in one belt. Forums are to ask questions when you get stuck... I'm stuck, I'm asking questions. Plus i cant find a shop near by that is willing to even touch my car.

Is the Air pump adjustable like the Alt?? Its either that or the dude at the auto shop sold me the wrong belt ( they've sold me the wrong rotors and brakes before too... bastards )

This is the first time I've ever put belts on by myself.

Buuuttt, if you say nothing needs to be removed, i guess i better go put that track back into place and put the screws back in :-). Once i get this belt on I'm finished

Yes.
The adjusting bracket is below the pump.

You're going to have to loosen the air pump to make some slack for the belt. There should be an adjuster bracket under the air pump if I recall correctly.

I just took the fan off.

With a large pair of channel-locks and a 10mm gear wrench, it took maybe a minute.

seriously? Wow. You know the more graceful way would be to brace a screwdriver against two studs to stop it from turning. Seriously? some ******* channell locks?

It wasn't difficult, nor time consuming.

Did you use the channel-locks to hold the water pump pulley still?

That pulley is so weak and flimsy I'm surprised yours still spin true.

If they were metric channel locks he's probably fine.

While I am flattered that many of you think I have a metal destroying death grip, I only gripped them just enough to keep the pulley from spinning.

This is a fairly common practice on many other cars, I'm surprised at the response here.
