Smoke!!!! Not Cool!
I just got my new turbo put on my car!
It is a T04 turbo! and now when ever i drive it i see smoke comming out of my tail pipe especially after i have stepped on it! I really want to know what are the symptoms? what would make it do this?
could it be apex seals?
the engine only has like 5000km's on it!
but if it is how would i be able to test that?
but mostly anything that you think it could be let me know so i can take a look! or have it looked at! it is parked right now! so i don't damage it further!

I get a lot of shitty black smoke as well...I was wondering if this could be due to running rich? How can I correct this besides a new o2 sensor which is currently awaiting to be put in?

well the smoke is white from what i can see! but some of my freinds said that it was black!!! but i am pretty sure it was white!!!
If it was coolant how would i correct that?
I have an upgraded t04 turbo but not yet an upgraded ecu! but it was doing this before the upgrade? what would it be?

It smokes when i shift! and especially when i stop! it smokes a hell of alot! And it usually does not smoke when it is at iddling unless of course i just flored it and it is just sitting there! It does not smoke when i am just sitting there after i started it! Unless i rev it faily high like past 5500rpm! so the engine was just redone! and by mazda! but it was done with the person that did it before! wHAT DO YOU THINK MY OPTIONS ARE?

ok ok settle down.
Water is a natural product of combustion (you get something like a 8:1 ratio of water put out to combustion put it ) Most likely your secondaries are putting out much fuel (above 4000 RPMs) and that's giving you the black smoke.
There should be some water condesing and dripping from your tailpipes then. THIS IS NORMAL.
About the black smoke, it's a fuel problem. Prolly cuz you are running a big turbo with a stock ECU. You should have some BLACK soot or carbon build up on the OUTSIDE of your exhaust tips if you're running too rich too.
LOOK in your overflow coolant reservoir when the engine is warm and running, if there are SURGING BUBBLES being pumped into there, ONLY THEN do you have internal engine troubles. IF it looks stable and nice and green, DONT WORRY.

Where do I find the overflow coolant reservoir! Ok! well that is making me a bit less worries can you PM me with the exact placement of this! cause i really want to find out what and why it is doing it!
THank You

FIND your radiator cap. Do you know where the radiator is? Look in front of your radiator. There is a small whitish tank near the VERY front of the car. A small black tube runs out of it to your radiator fill neck.
This tank is the overflow tank, there is GREEN coolant inside it. I has marking of LOW and FULL on the side. ONLY use these markings when the engine is WARM. It should read full and be tranquil at idle.
IF you see the green coolant bubbling up or it looks like there is lots of OIL in the coolant, then you're gonna need a rebuild.
IF it looks nice and steady and green, then your white smoke is just water condensation from a HOT engine to a COOLER exhaust. IT HAPPENS TO EVERY CAR (even pist0n engines).
