when i first start my car and it runs it smells like gas, and my exhaust is always carboned up...could i have leaky injectors? is that causing the smell, also what causes the carbon is it the premix i have been running??

your O2 sensor or your Air Flow Meter could be out of whack causing you to run hyper rich...

Does it idle funny? Take a hand whif of the exhaust and see how rich is smells. (Could also be spark plugs old not burning the gas entirely...again strange idle would probably be a symptom.)

 

If the smell is from the front of the car, check all the fuel hoses around the engine very carefully. Mine had a pinhole leak that would 'disappear' once the engine warmed up. Usual warning about pulsation damper applies too.

 

Yeah, check the ol pulsation damper, i was at jukyard yeasterdday and the one engine that was in the rx's we saw had its pd scew backed out

Its like under the upper intake if I remember correctly. Someone showed me a pic on here before. If I had my NA still I would go look and tell you exactly but with my TII I have this lid on my engine bay(I/C)
