There was a guy who posted here, I'm sure less than a week ago, about his mod. He used a pair of small circular headlights that he got from JC Whitney, I think. He also modded his headlight door to comeup only enough to expose the headlights. Kinda like that kit for Miatas.

Anyone know what happened to that post? I looked through the last 11 pages of threads and couldn't find it. I don't remember the guy's name, or the name of the thread.

Thanks, Jeff.

I guess it was over a week ago. Oh well. Maybe now he'll post some instructions.

I think his mod looked pretty sweet, although I'd have to do something about a trim piece. You can definitely tell it's not factory, which is a bad thing, IMO. I try to keep things lookikng nice and neat, including the electric fan install I did for my 86. I think form should follow function, of course, but not too far behind...

yeah, they did look really low in that picture. it looked a lot better up close. basically, i set them to be open the same amount as the hood scoop is. the headlight covers were just about level with the ground.

it isn't my cup of tea, so i voted "not" cool,
but it isn't gay or anything. I suppose it is just a case of personal taste on this one. Nothing wrong with it, it just don't push my buttons, tho if *you* like it, go get it. It's your car, and you have to be happy with it.

I prefer some of those sleek headlight kits, like the RE Amemiya one, tho the pricetag attached makes me feel nauseous

I found the sleepy lights mod on a site and threw it in (I had an extra relay kicking around...)

At first I was catching the lights on the 'up' stroke and the right side was always a bit higher than the left. The poor car looked like she had Down's Syndrome...

Now I use the ovveride to pop up the lights, then drop them again but use the mod switch to catch them on the 'down' stroke (hope that makes sense to you.) Voila! They're even! Now if I could just consistently catch them at the same height each time. A little less than halfway up looks sharp to me.

ttyl,

The sleepy look, I don't like it. But the conversion that turboren is talking about is cool.

for those who wanted option videos: www.arkadvideo.com sells them for cheap

I like the sleepy eyed look...I've seen it done on alot of 180's and 240's in japan and I love it.......I had it done to a 240 I used to have..with about 2-3 inches of headlight showing....I liked it a whole lot.....Plus I have good eye sight so it never was really a problem for me to see...Some people like it, some dont, sometimes it serves a purpose...most times it doesent....Think it looks better on the 240 than the FC though....FC is a little more blocky....maybe with a rounder kit?

Hey guy who drifts in Hawaii....you know anything about that REV something club? There's a guy in it who drifts his camaro.....hehe

Why anyone would want to ruin the functionality of their lights and reduce the amount of light from your lights at night is beyond me. I personally think the sleepy lights look ridiculous, but I have always believed what people do to their cars is their own buisness. Most of the people on this board probably think British cars are gay, but I love old MG's and Triumphs and Healeys and Jags...hey, without different tastes we'd all be driving Taruses or something! But my problem with the sleepy lights is this: You can't see worth a S*%t. I have ridden with one of my brother's friends who had done this to his Supra...it scared the hell out of me. And driving around at night without your lights on!?!? You may well be able to see fine if there is enought light from streetlights, etc. , but you are seriously reducing your visibility to other drivers. Keep in mind that the world is just overflowing with idiots and stupid people, and most of them have driver's licenses. These people wouldn't notice a flaming 27 foot neon pink ***** flipping down the street if it didn't hit them. So you go driving around at night with your lights off so you can look like those really "cool" high school kids in their mom's ex-honda they just finished sawing the muffler off of, and you get hit because some jerk didn't see you. Even if you don't get killed or maimed, you just got your pride and joy, beautiful RX-7 destroyed....think about it. I don't hink its worth it. Sorry for the long rant, but one of the idiot ricers around here damn near ran me off the road about 30 minutes ago and I am still venting!

You guys are too uptight about your cars..

Too bad I can't leave it this way, SCCA probably will have a cow if I tried to race like this

Sleepys the way. Well maybe Im into the drift thing. Ive got gold rims on a white FC. people always think its funny but again they dont understand the drift thing or the sleepy lights. Its all about style and recognizing drifter when you drive by them.

They definately don't have much room. My first car was a 78 MGB (second was the TII) and it was my daily driver for about 2 years. Me and both my brothers used to have to ride to school in it every day. We just stuck the youngest brother in the back behind the seats where the top folds down, but hey, he was a lot smaller then so he almost fit back there!

You dont need pictures unless you are a total retard.
1. pop the hood
2. pull the headlight retractor fuse
3. reach under front bumper from the side and find the *** under each headlight. there is a plastic cover, take it off.
4. turn *** until the light is were you want it and do the other the same.
When you want em down just put the fuse back in.
*damn rookies*

Down is best. Seth (cymfc3s) figured it out. Just pull the FTP lenses & add a switch to the popup circuit. That way you can still put them up at night. Plus the open FTP adds cool air to the intake..
