"Sleepy Eye" Half Up Headlights on FC's, Cool or Not?
I've been doing the sleepy headlight thing on my FC since I got it. I don't make it too sleepy though; some people make it like 1/2 an inch open and it really looks wrong. It's just something to change the look that doesn't cost anything. I do think that it looks better lower but it's obvious that the headlights are halfway up since the lamps are huge. Anyway, I'm just gonna buy the east-bear kit so I don't have to worry about it.

If you look in Japanese tuner magazines, almost every car with pop-up headlights has them sleepy style. I've only seen sleepy style on MR2's here. That's where the idea first came to me.
At least with the FC, the FTP's Light up if you do the sleepy head lights correctly. If you don't put them too low, they'll look okay and people won't notice that they're low.

AE Turbo, where are you going to get the East Bear kit from? Imported? I'm interested in that kit, but the last time I checked up on it, it was like $500, plus the cost to get it over here.

OH yeah!!
I'm using some clear diamond back headlight fixtures in my car so the head lights just look nice. People notice the halfway headlights and then they notice the crystal lights and it's a good combo. I do agree that it looks broken when you have the dull sealed beams in there.

I'm pretty happy with the lights. They contribute to making the car look newer. There's a extra hole in the back of the casing so you can put some city lights or strobes in. Also, the back casing is made of plastic so you can drill a hole and put city lights with the strobe lights. I had that setup for a while but then it got stupid and I removed the strobes.

Hey, the seller on eBay has a lot of pics on these lights:

I'll take some pics with them on my car over the weekend.

Uh, that's what I heard but I'm not sure. Either way, I use the city lights when I go crusing around Hollywood or street races where it's visible at night without headlights. I used to use dark blue bulbs for the city lights and it looked pretty cool at night. Yes it's kinda "ricey", but my car didn't look ricey so it was okay.
I highly reccomend the diamond lights over the stock sealed though.
....copycat j/k
I like it, I used to do it on my old 90 NA, when both headlights were up they wouldnt be at the same height, so I did the fuse trick.
Living in SF there is plenty of light, you could drive without your headlights on theoretically.
Now, on my TurboII both stay at the same height and I accually like the look of the popups, so I dont fiddle with them.
The Eastbear lights look absolutely hideous.
