If you could make them animated and actually spin when you hit the brakes.. now we're talking.

Again, are those interested only wanting a direct copy of the photos at the beginning of the thread, or something more... interesting? I've been toying with an idea of removing the main diffuser for that 'updated' look you all talk about so much, but using independant diffusers for each circle. Underneath, embedding rings of 100-degree 2mm LEDs to make a bright halo ring similar to Angel Eyes that fade in intensity towards the center of the light; activating the brakes would power an additional set of recessed emmiters that would fill the circle uniformly, and with an approx. 50% intensity increase.

Or I could just go with the pic.
I kinda like where you're going with your idea. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Delphince that sounds like it's going to turn out really cool.........but it's really pushing to rice status.

I dunno we'll see as soon as it's done, I hope it turns out stunning my friend

Delphince, are you planning on actually producing these? I may very well be interested in a pair a month or two down the road. Honestly, I would be happy with either suggestions of yours. The creative idea you had sounded what the new Skyline tail lights look like... and I think I'm for it! that is, assuming it wouldn't do anything to further increase production costs a significant amount. I'm subscribing to this thread, hoping to see more come of this.

Yeah, I have a set of s5 taillights to build off of being sent in, and ordered the leds I think I'll be using. Since I have motives for not changing my taillights from being stock, at this point I'd be out about $250 if I don't make the set. So yeah, it's more than a safe bet I'll be completing a prototype and putting it up for sale here. Whether I make others depends on how things go and the interest they generate.

I would like to see something like that on S4 tails... but I am wanting to try something new with Neon bulbs but I don't think that they will turn on fast enough to be used as break lights. I have seen an Austin Martin DB with neon tail lights somewhere (I think?) anyone think it would work??

I've started work. Taking the diffusers out wasn't a problem, but you guys aren't kidding about it being hard to scrape off all this glue to clean it up. There was a problem heating them; a couple small spots on the bottom edges dimpled up (about the size of an "O" on a keyboard) from the heat even though they weren't touching anything, for some reason. But nothing too serious.

I've got a couple ideas about S4s too, but one thing at a time.

For reference of anyone interested, apparently Prep-All wax and grease remover completely dissolves the glue without causing any hazing in the plastic. Things have become pretty cut and dry since I figured that one out.
