Sick Tailights- :)

Guys call different tailights rice and all I understand. But these look stock but very updated and new. I really want to do this to a set of s5's. Where do you suppose I could find those LED's?

I believe I saw pics of someone on the forum that did LEDs in his tail lights. But I dont think it looks as factory as these.

I think the Wing fits the car. With a car THAT done up, it just fits. '

Yeah, the tail lights are sick, those pics have been floating around the forum for about 3 months now. i think this is the a, 3rd thread specificly about them.

Im going to be making 2 pair of those pretty soon as well.

I really like this car, but im sad that they didnt a better job on the exhaust...

I don't know about those particular lights...but I remember seeing an ad in the back of a magazine where they had LED's that replaced the stock bulb socket and spread inside your light assembly like an umbrella. Its kind of hard to explain, but once you see a picture, its self explanatory...I believe they won some award at SEMA that year, so it shouldn't be all that hard to find.

The lights are beautiful! The car is HOT (dont think it looks ricer at all), but the wing does have to go and the exhaust was justt horrible after all the detail with the rest of it! They say it next to 240SX?? Thats a real shame, I hate nissans....

you can find those bulbs at just about any auto parts store now, that is a bit different than a full custom LED equipped housing.

the yellow on that car is HIDEOUS!
but once you get beyond that, the wheels are so sick, desmond regamaster evo's and they look super wide, although I didnt think they came wider than 9", the fenders and body panels are totally sick and the wing is fine, the higher the better for real track duty, as ugly as it looks, I'd use it if that was my track car.

I wonder if you could get the LED's from aftermarket tails or some newer car like an Infiniti G35 maybe? and retrofit the bulbs to your S5 tails.

i Hav ehtought about doing something similar all along. I was going to make a cf housing and get those lights like you see for the tractor trailors and fit them in. I am sure I can find them. I think they look even better with a stock housing. Looks like all you have to do is remove the grids or whatever they are and make them clear and install the LED lights. Very nice looking and very updated.

Erikseven did a bit of a write up (maybe it was just a thread with pics of the end result, can't remember) about removing the diamond lens' that are behind the coloured portion of our taillight lens'...just in cas eyou want some info on how he took them out....I believe though all he did was heat them up and pry the lens out. But I believe his thread was something along the lines of "S5 tails - modernized"

I thought about the led conversion. While I haven't done ant modifications as of yet I simply placed the leds into the bulb housings and didn't really like the look at all. See for yourself

Thanks they are still a work in progress and they need to be recessed back a bit. I still don't know how the end result will be, but then again it's an extra set I had lying around

Nice looking lights - i like how they used the stock S5's to make it.

Anybody tried putting some LED arrays in the S4 lights like those scrolling signs have? That'd be cool as hell.

I was thinking about doing that. I have a leftover pair at my parents house. When I get around to going over there and getting all of my fc stuff I plan on trying to figure something out.

If you can create a proper functioning setup with rin LEDs like that show Fc i'd be all in for a set, maybe more lights in the circle though, looks a little spaced out.

You're talkin about Spiderlight LED's. Yeah, they look interesting, but I don't think they'd look right, i don't know.
