should my car use that much gas??

i have a 1988 GXL 123,000 km, intake, header and that about it. I have to put like 10$ in my car a day or more.
It seams like alot and i dont drive it that hard.

My friends has a 1987 GXL streeport, Rb header custome y pipe and magnaflow exhaust and we ported his intake man. He seams to be getting way better milage than me.

whats up with that what can cause out cars o suck back the gas more than others? could it be my o2 sensor? It is the stock one im sure. How much are they and should i get a stock or a bosh one?

thanks for what els you can tell me

Its all about how your car is running, and what mods are. Most bolt-ons will help your gas mileage when youre not on the gas, and street porting will help some in the same regard.

Replace your O2 sensor if you havent recently($25-30), same for your plugs, and check your timing.

that is bad. 1.6km=1 mile correct? That is around 200 miles to the tank. I get around 280-315 to a tank which would be around 450-500km per tank.

if its 400 km for the whole tank, then thats like roughly 240 miles per tank, which is bad but not terrible. Replace your 02 sensor and maybe your spark plugs and see what happens.

I have a similar problem with my 88 gtu as well. I believe it's my float. On a full tank I can go about 40 miles until its on 'E', Then it only takes about 5-6 bucks to fill up (rough estimates, it's been shopped for a while.) I'm not trying to push my luck just in case I am burning that much fuel, so I fill it everytime it starts to get "low". I'm going to get it checked out soon. I thought I'd through it out to you guys. Any ideas?
