shifter center return spring

Arrow shifter center return spring

i bought a spring for the shifter to return to center from mazda trix and like a dummy i cant figure out how to put it on. has anybody installed this on there car? what did you do?

search.,. there is a write up on here somewhere. it's not a super difficult job, but it can be kind of frustrating i hear. i did mine while the tranny was out of the car so it was a lot easier.

how do i get the roll pin out? it doesn't budge and im hitting it with a hammer and screw driver. i don't wanna hit it to hard though in case thats not the way to do it. i don't wanna break it. how did you guys take it out?

ive got the pin what looks like half way through but now the shifter mechanism is stuck in the position of 1st/2nd. what now? how do i get the pin all the way out? please help

theres a spring under the shifter? i changed mine for a short shifter and had no springs?

ive done everything in the link above except for putting it in third gear. so far and im stuck on #9 i cant get the pin all the way through. im using a screw driver but it just smalle than the whole so its got clearance to push through. its just not going through all the way. ive been using a 3 pound mall and its still not bugging anymore. what am i missing?

what you have to do is rotate the shift selector block so that the pin will come out through the what i think is called the blind cover, and the pin should come out through there.

is the blind cover the cover with two bolts on the bottom side of the tranmission

there is a hole under the pin, suck out all the gear oil and wipe it out and you'll see it.
