shift knob replacement.
shift **** replacement.
hey everyone. i recently got my 89 rx7 and im slowly starting to mod it. today i wanted to replace the shift **** but i couldnt figure out how. i tried loosening it by turning but i didnt want to break anything so i stopped. if anyone could help me out i would really appritiate it. thanx.
I guess there's a little nut under the **** the threads opposite. You have to unscrew it by using the normal screw in method (clockwise), and unscrew the handle like normal. Sorry if that's confusing. If there's no nut, just try harder.

i had to double clamp to get my 88 off, clamp the shift **** and the steel shaft to keep from breaking it and just use a sissor pull(opposite directions) to loosen it. try that

I suppose I ought to find one in a junkyard then.
