License Plate in the Front?

Well, I'm from NY state where a front plate is required and right now ive got it zip tied on and it's crooked and bent and ugly. But I thought whatever... "I'll just look like a badass with a problem with athority and a crooked plate shows no respect." Hahaha right? Wrong.

Now I've got a brand new bra coming in the mail. What do I do with the plate. Front windshield won't work. I already got a ticket for that. I dont want to drill into the front end and I dont have the special bracket. If i get it from mazdatrix, will it work with the bra? I believe the bra (since it's oem) has mesh covering the grill and stuff. What to do????

BTW.... I searched and found nothing useful. I know i can get an adaptor bracket thing from MT.com. I just need to know it it will work with a meshed bra or not and what I should do if it doesn't.

i've got the same problem... texas is kind of lenient on that, and they usually don't care. well in austin anyways. they get more mad for having it on the windshield than not having it at all. I know i'll need to fix that as well... i don't know what to tell you, but i'm keeping an eye on this post for a solution!

My S4 OEM bra has a cut-out so you can put it over the plate

how does it go "over" the plate? Is it a hole the plate shows through or do you mean the bra goes behind the plate?

ok, now let me know if you're not following me on this one... but i think i have a solution. take 2 long threaded bolts, and get a metal plate about 3 inches wide, and as long as the licence plate. slide the bolts so that the smooth side is pushed onto the face of the licence plate, and then slide the metal plate behind it. take a couple of nuts, and screw them on there very tightly, so the plate will stick up straight regardless. on the other end, make another 2 metal plates, as long as they need to be in order to grab on to something. you're kind of making a clamp out of them, you getting it? anyways, take a couple of nuts, screw them on to where you want them, and then slide one of the plates on. locate the whole setup wherever you can on the front bumper, then take the other plate, and slide it on so that some piece of the bumper ends up between the 2 metal plates. get 2 more nuts, tighetn them on there till the whole setup stays.

if tha'ts not the answer you're looking for.... maybe it'll inspire something at least... well that's my half assed idea, let me know what you think.

The only part I have bought from the dealer was a front plate bracket. Oddly enough they had it in stock and it was about 7 bucks with tax. My bra fits over it with no problems.

The bracket bolts to the underside of the bumper, there are 2 holes pre-drilled for it.

3M double stick tape it over the passenger side brake duct somehow. I'd do anything I could to avoid drilling into the bumper.

i just got a ticket for it!!!! No front plate!
usually where i live is ok, but because i got a parking ticket, the stupid cop gave me it for no front plate too
it pisses me off

i don't know if i should zip tie it for a while, get the correction, and then take it off
or do those "angled" plates like they have in japan (it just looks cool, i don't think it does much) =)

you might as well dish out the money for a plate bracket and get used to having the plate there... it'll save you money and hastles with the police in the future. personaly... i don't understand the reason for having licence plates in the front... it's not like you're going to be chasing a cop ever, plus, if someone needs to look at your plate and you're behind them, they're either looking into a mirror... or turning around to look at it. i know it's not impossible to read things in a mirror, but it sure is hard! it's a lot easier to just slow down and let whoever is pissing you off pass you, then you can tailgate them and get their plate. lol

new york state is a pain in the *** when it comes to not showing your plate. i can only recommend that you zip tie that bitch low on the front grill. make 2 small insicions on that bra and have the plate just be 2 inches from the ground lol.
