Never heard of the SDJ header, but just ask the maker what is needed to hook it up to the stock y-pipe. The racing beat catback (and any other catback) will bolt up in the same place as the stock y-pipe.

you would want somthing custom made at an exhaust shop. no one really makes a mid pipe that will fit between aftermarket headers and the 'y' pipe.

I will be moving to Cali summer of 2007, SDJ headers are exempt from California emissions. Ive been looking around to see who sells them but can not find. 13BSAV if you find someone out there that sells them lemme know and how I can get one.

Thanx,
chris

Sorry, but theres no such thing as a carb exempt header, and if there was it wouldn't really provide any gains. To be CARB exempt it can't alter any of the emmisions equipment and every header I have seen deletes the precats which have a large effect on start-up emmisions.

Well waddya know. Anyway, what is a close-coupled catalyst system?
Edit: All I saw for the rx-7 was the hooker headers, and I can't find them for sale on their website. Anyone know about them, I'm curious as to how they're designed.

SDJ headers aren't in production anymore. Banzai was the only seller and he (last I heard) isn't selling them anymore.

If you did find one you just need a stock lengthed test pipe, such as the test pipes sold by:

http://www.corksport.com
http://www.rx7.com (Bonez)

Or high flo cats sold by many manufacturers.
