Safe boost?!?!?!

I got gauges and a FCD and MCB for christmas, and i was just wondering whats a save amount of boost i can run on daily/race driving??

Also i heard from someone not to boost my car until it gets to normaly opperating temps. Is this true??

Thanks

yes that is true... unless u wanna decrease the turbo/engine life. what year is your car? install the gauges before you install the MBC im not an authority to say what psi you should run.. but if you do some research on the FCD youll find that it kicks in at somewhere around 8psi and makes the computer believe its staying at 8psi although you could be boosting 20psi (not literally). going above 8psi to a certain extent may be ok.. im at 10psi right now with a stock fuel system (except rewire) and i have never heard any pinging. but id say dont go over 8psi if you wanna be safe, until u get adequate fuel. ofcourse you might also take into consideration the flow of your intake/exaust.. correct me if im wrong though.

Personally I wouldn't run more than 10 psi. There are some people who have had luck up to 12 psi but I think that even at 10psi your pushing it.
The main reason not to push the car when it's not properly warmed up is because the housings and rotors are made up of a combination of aluminum and iron. If you push the car too hard it will heat up at a higher rate and with the different expansion rates of the aluminum and iron will warp

I would recommend getting a upgraded fuel pump or at least doing a rewire of it.

With a rewire I would say 10psi is pretty safe.

no more than 10 psi, on stock setup with a good voltage at the fuel pump.

in the midrange you can get a lot but up at redline its hard to get 8-9-10psi out of the stocker no matter what you do

if that new turbo is bigger then you should have no problem holding boost at redline

it's no problem at all to rewire the pump. i did mine like 2 weeks ago. if you have any ?'s. email me or PM me. or AIM me. I can tell you just about anything you want to know about the rewire. It's pretty straight forward.
