SAFC2 Reading 8% throttle when car isn't even on? TPS maybe?

This has just recenty happened. When i installed the TPS and set it to 1K ohms, it would read 0% throttle and rev perfect. Now all of a sudden it reads 8% throttle. I pulled out the dmm to check the voltage and it was 1.150K ohms. so I adjust it back to 1K ohms and it still reads 8% throttle. wtf is going on here? With that reading it smells super super rich, and bogs if I don't give it enough gas. I remember that when I'm checking the tps voltages and i have a friends step on the gas to see where the tps returns to, it doesnt hit 1K ohms anymore. It will return to 1.4 then .8 and so on. is this a tps problem?

Other than that the car is a S4 TII, that idles perfect, doesn't smoke, and has lots of power.

thanks guys

IIRC when me and wankel7 were logging with his wideband his TII would idle at 2.8-3% throttle.

Because if you look at your SENSOR SETTINGS, the tps should read 1.00 volts when you percentage reading reads ZERO

The voltage output of a properly set TPS should read what boys and girls???????????????????/ ONE VOLT. Just like the fsm says, time and time again and one more time.....ONE VOLT.

That's not to say if you want to set your tps to read 1K ohms or use the two light method...that that is *WRONG*, its just to say that don't expect the percentage to read ZERO.

And of course everyone here knows that a cold thermowax will cause the reading to be off and that it will be correct when the thermowax warms up.

is it ONE VOLT irrespective of battery voltage (14.4 V as opposed to 12 V) ?

is it ONE VOLT irrespective of battery voltage (real life 14.4 V as opposed to FSM's 12 V) ?

Go find out. Drain your battery down to 11 volts and take a look then look at the reading with 12 plus volts. I don't think the batt voltage matters if you don't go to extremes with that idea. As in batt voltage 3volts or batt voltage 20 volts. Get my drift?

The FSM says APPROX ONE VOLT. Not one volt plus/minus 0.05
