Safc Help Wont run Unless +25%

first of all i know this should be in the safc section but no one goes there and most people who have safcs are 2nd gen people so please dnot move this thread.

ok now back to what im saying. i finally got my car to run right with 550s in primary. timing is all set, but car will not run good unless safc is set +25% from 1200-3800. if i set it at zero it will hesitate mad from 1k-3k. but at +25%it runs fine. i herd you CAN'T add fuel with an safc only take away. if so then why does it allow you to + at all? adn if you cant add fuel what is +25% doing to my car. is it bad to run it at +25% for primary nijectors? i dotn intend on keeping safc to long. i need to figure out which standalone i want first. but thats another deal. this is my daily driver so i need to to run right.

Sure you can add fuel... by maxxing out the injectors... say stock the injectors are running at 55 percent duty cycle.. you can increase pulse width to say.... 65 percent duty cycle... but once you reach full duty cycle, you can't add more fuel.

It definitely should not.
Any idea what your fuel pressures look like?

Are you SURE your AFM type is set correctly on the S-AFC? I had these exact symptoms when my S-AFC spontaniously changed to HOTWIRE type AFM while driving. Quite scary. Thought my engine blew.

I had similar problems caused by a badly wired fuel pump. Check your fuel pressure.
Worst case, just remove the safc. It should be fairly easy to unplug it from the harness and jumper the afm in and afm out pins.

This is misleading info. Injectors don't run at a particular duty cycle. Duty cycle is injector opening duration (constantly varying with load and rpm) divided by the duration of one engine cycle (constantly varying with rpm), so duty cycle is also constantly varying. When you add fuel with a fuel controller you're actually increasing the injector opening duration by that percentage.
