Any differences? How will i be able to tell just by looking at it?

not for mine,

i swapped my tranny with a S4 tranny....

feels the same, looks the same

Should be the same. Call mazda and see if they have the same part number. That will tell ya if they are different, well at least to them.

oh thanks SonicRat, i didn't even notice that....

no wonder i get a 3 mph difference only in 5th gear when i get the data from the GPS......

cool, that was good to know.....

Do the housings have any differences? Are the spline patterns the same or is there any differences in the input shaft?

housing and spline patterns are all the same
it went in perfectly =D (after grease)

Just keep in mind that if you're crossing models e.g. a S4 into a S5, or visa versa, you'll need the trans mount for that particular transmission.
