s4 weird beeping at over 100km
hye everyone, my fc3c rx7 s4 has this annoying beep at any speed over 100km. how to i stop this sound? cam i just pull out/cut a wire going to a beeper? where is the beeper? thanks
Unlike the last poster i'll say something useful. how about just maybe the power steering is failing at 100kph. maybe the power steering computer is beeping. s4 rx7s do have speed sensitive steering.... this is only a hypothesis but i'm not going to try and paint you stupid..
Didn't some of the early Japanese cars have a chime to tell you that you were speeding? I remember the AE86 was equipped with such a chime, not sure is jspec FC had it too...
im pretty sure its speed related ay cos as soon as i hit 100km its beep 1 second gap beep 1 second gap beep etc until i slow down. i mite just rip the dash apart and find the beeper. this beep sound is quite quiet too not like whoaa!! whats wrong here type thing.

if you know your going 100 klms im assuming your speedo cable is connected ?
i left mine off upon a test drive and got the same beeping followeed by power steering cut out once i restart the car its back to normal but then it repeats and i lose power steering so it must be power steering related to agree with other previous comments.

come on, haven't you guys ever watched initial D
over 100 km/h the chime comes on because that either is/ or used to be the national speed limit in japan. (same reason why a lot of older cars have 55 mph marked on their speedos.
I would ask around other people in new zealand, they should know how to get rid of it, most people on this forum are from the US where we don't have that chime.
