s4 vert turbo II swap questions
s4 vert turbo II swap questions
For the past couple of days I have made the "search button" on this forum and many others my friend on trying to gather up all the info on what I'll need for this swap.
I have become quit overwhelmed with info that just leaves me more confused (I like to over think thins). It's like one person says you need this and another guy says you need that. I can't find a good write up that tells me everything I need to know.
So my question is.....
Can someone tell me everything (sensors and other misc. parts) I'll need to do this swap in my 88 vert?
If there is a good informing write up out there please let me know.
Also I know that the jdm harness and ecu are useless, so were is the best place to buy the oem ones?
I know a lot of you are going to give me hell for asking that, but that is ultimately what a forum is for. So please show mercy with the flaming and help me out lol.
thanks,

im starting the exact same swap as you good luck :d
if your n/a harness is still good then re-use it and get a turbo ecu n332 / n333
ask members on the 2nd gen parts thread for a harness and ecu

I did this swap complete with all emmisions engine through half shafts. So let me give you a Cliff Notes version to boil it all down to it's essence.
Everything bolts in. So your best bet is to buy either a wrecked TII (best option). Second best, one with a blown motor and buy a JSpec block to go with it. Buying parts piece meal could very well cost you more than this approach.
Then park them beside your Vert and start swapping things out. Be sure and use the TII's vacume hose at the Brake Booster as it has a check valve the NA's doesn't.
Even the TII stock downpipe will bolt up clearing the Verts cross support. Be sure and replace all gaskets and seals with new on the TII block before dropping in. New water pump would be a good idea as well.
Beyond the actual swapping things out, here is only two modifications you'll need to make.
1. Run a pair of wires along the TII Emission harness for the alternator. FSM will tell you where to connect them under the dash.
2. Buy an aftermarket Boost gauge. Install it after everything else is done.
All that detail you've been reading is all good reference. But it all boils down to what I wrote above.

I just want a complete list of everything I'll need. I have no knowledge with rx7's or rotary's what so ever.

Just Please do this for MR Styx!..if you take wires OFF the engine,Label them!..Do not go By Memory!
and HOZZ.the N/A booster does have a check valve in the rubber hose on the booster. It actually "tricked me' for a couple days, awhile back..If that hose is reversed,it gives you Brakes,But you have to STAND On the pedal.Basically Manual brake,No booster
.With the hose back to normal it allows vacuum to get to the booster.
To the Poster:.If you can't get a TII harness, get an N/A harness. They are cheaper and you just have to extend a couple wires. Not hard to do.(solder them though,.it is better to Know they won't come apart. So less troubleshooting if something goes wrong) Cheers STYX.
