S4 TII Street Porting Questions....

Okay I got the templates and all the tools to do this with, my question is do I just port the side housings? I was told I maybe could do the intermediat housing too, though it feels like there is not enough metal on the top part of the port, I have the porting templates and all, but I want the most power I can get with a street port, the bottom of the intermediat housings intake port seems to be enough to streetport, but I don't wanna **** anything up, can someone tell me wassup???

I used the mazdatrix templates, and I ported the intermediate housing exactly like the template showed. I found the intermediate housing easier than than the front and end housing. I would definetly port the intermediate. Remember though a little less is sometimes a little more. To big and Ohhh fucko!

Okay I was just feeling the "meat" with my pinky finger through the water jaket and it felt like there was not much there in between the port and the water jacker hole.

One more thing how much more power are you making cause of the street port, also what kinda mpg, really shitty I guess...I was told that around 15 PSI with enough fuel and cooling I could make close to 500hp....

the absolute max I've seen the stock turbo put down with stock IC/ports is 260...and that was at 1bar and was a pretty freakish car. Stretching it to the max maybe you could put down 280 to the wheels, but in my mind that would be a miracle. Now if you plan on swapping out the turbo and intercooler than you probably could reach 500 at the flywheel...but that's a LOT of power. lot lot.

Dude did you see my post...not stock Ports!!! STREET PORTS they should flow ALOT, I'm not saying I would get to it at 15 psi, I'm saying it would be possible with hte right porting and setup, keep in mind a Street port TII makes much, much more power than a Stock port TII...

It doesn't matter if you have stock ports, streetports, or bridgeports, the factory turbo can not flow enough air for any more than about 260 rwhp or so. After about 5500 rpm the turbo starts to fall on its face. This is with stock ports. A streetport flows more so turbo restriction is even more important. You can get it to work better up higher in the rpm range with the help of an electronic boost control and some wastegate porting but it is still only going to do so much. 15 psi on a stock turbo might get you 260 rwhp but 15 psi on a nice big single turbo will get you 400+ rwhp. It would take 2 stock turbos to equal this. Your engine will flow more, your turbo won't.

jesus, some people just don't get it, jeez man its gonna have big ports, bottom line, stock turbo will never make more than 260rwhp, (and i saw that on a heavy modded s5), so, if you want more than that get a big goddamn turbo already

your stock turbo will not allow more than 260whp to happen. once everything is ported and ready for more air to flow through, the turbo is the limit. and in this case, your turbo is your limit.

I'll be quite honest here. You can easily make over 260rwhp on the stock turbo. I have commonly seen 230rwhp @ 12psi on a S5 with a high flow cat (or equivelant), intake, dp, catback, stock IC, Safc and 720s.

If you port the wastegate, turbine housing, clip turbine blades, both manifolds+TB, 3-inch straight back, Street port, water injection, large IC. I would estimate around 310-320rwhp max. You would have to run c-16 and 20psi though.

It would be tuning on the ragged edge too, but I know there are some crazy australian bastards who have done it.

Time for me to hijack this thread and ask some questions.

1. does a mild streetport increase your redline? if so to what?

2. Is it true that S4 TII's are impossible to get to pass smog after a streetport?

thats it for now.

no. it jsut gives to a little more power on the top of your powerband. from say 5500-8000?
