S4 TII rats nest removal.

I am about to order the block off plates.. I want to continue to drive this car every day. So what should I take out, and what should I keep?

Search button only brings up NA threads and most of the time it's about them screwing something up. I can't find anything on S4 TII's..

Thats the rotary resurrection guide to a FULL emissions removal for your car, you can pick an choose certain things. I when i did this to my s5 n/a I left the BACV and dashpot to help the car not suck as badly. If you are taking off the airpump you might as well just get rid of the emissions solenoids, acv, and its hardware. Just make sure you dont need to smog if you're going to do this.

I did this to my S4 TII last summer. I kept the BAC and thermowax because my engine is tired, and it needs all the help it can get to start sometimes. But my old thread may help a little. I removed all emissions equipment and the rats nest. I followed all the diagrams exactly and my car runs way better than it did before.

Why are you doing this? Is the emissions equipment all still functional? I hope you aren't doing this for "power gain". As there is almost none to be had by removing functioning emissions control equipment. If anything, the car will have a higher chance of running poorly, and you'll be the OP to yet another "I removed my emissions, now it runs bad/not at all" thread.

Good point Bamato. I should add that the previous owner of my car removed parts of my emissions system and the airpump, but left other parts there with open vacuum ports and crap all over. So I removed everything just to get my car running right period. My buddy has a freshly rebuilt S5 TII with all emissions equipment and that thing is much faster than my car. More to do with rebuild and being an S5 than emissions, but they're still there none the less.

^^That would prove to be a valid reason to take on emissions removal.

The only parts I kept were BAC, and I cut the oil feed piping out of the big rat nest of vac tubing.

All you need is vacuum for BOV, boost sensor, FPR, and brake booster.

I gutted everything including wiring to reduce troubleshooting and causes of problems. I don't even have OMP lines. The FPR solenoid is crap. Doesn't really help.

I absolutely love it. Everything is easy to work on now and simple to troubleshoot.
I've even found on my car that the BAC isn't even needed. I unplugged it and it didn't really affect my car. Although it doesn't have AC or a heater.
