Hey everyone, looking for some clarification about the rear suspension components and trying to find the specific names of bushings. I attached a couple images to outline what I'm not clear about. There's two points where the control arm (?) connects to the hub. What are the bushings besides the DTSS that connect the hub to the control arm?
Is what I'm calling the control arm correct? I've seen it referenced as trailing arm and now I'm a bit confused.
Also what is the part called that holds the wheel bearing and hub? I thought it was knuckle but I don't know if that's the correct name for the rear.
FB01-26-230 is the pillow ball on the rear
FB01-26-220 is the top bushing
FB01-49-130 and 140 are the DTSS bushing. They are expensive, but Amayama lists them as available
Control arm or trailing arm are kind of interchangeable here, but it is a semi-trailing arm type suspension.
If you are doing the rear sub-frame bushings, they have a correct orientation. That picture posted, they are installed wrong. I did the same with mine accidently too.
Is the 1st picture even and s4 or 5, it looks wrong?
Thanks for those links. I did not know the subframe bushings had a correct orientation Did you have to pop them out and get new ones? Or is there a way to rotate them once in there?
It's an S4. In the first picture the assembly is upside-down, so maybe thats why it looks wrong? I took that right when it came off the car
After some research I believe I need the following according to the attached diagram:
Upper Bushing in post #1 pic#2
- 26-220
Lower bushing in post #1 pic#2
- 26-230
- 26-250 x2 (?)
If I'm doing the DTSS eliminator kit, would I be better off getting solid bushings? Or will those oem type work?

Those bushings are in there very tight. I just found out recently too, it is a work in progress still. I feel kind of dumb that I didn't bother to check the S5 FSM for additional info. Thanks to awesome forum members for pointing this out to me otherwise??? We'll see....
