theres absolutely no need for one of those crazy expensive brake kits, the stock 5lug 4-pot calipers are some of the beefiest around, if you are 4lug i suggest doing the 5lug swap with the brakes and thats one of the best upgrades you can do, no need to spend 3-4grand on a "name"
Well, you don't need a big brake kit, but a good set of powerslot rotors and some decent pads will make a big difference. They make a couple different types, and have front and rear apps.
like they said, 5lug conversion and 4 piston is the best for your buck. then powerslot and pads...
the reason the dont make rear kits is that there really isnt a need for them..
what happens when you stop your car? all the weight "shifts" forward, causing a heavier load on the front brakes. with bigger front brakes, you can handle that extra load. rear big brakes are for show, unless your pushing some major power.

Yea, I would recommend a 5 lug swap too, just make sure you have an entire day to do it. And lube is your friend. I ended up cutting off most of the bolts on the 4 lug cuz they where siezed. It is definitely not fun.
I race a 90 RX7 E Production in SCCA Nationals, 5 lug 4 pot Hawk Blue front, Hawk Black rear and have all the brakes I ever need. This car finished 2nd in the Northeast Division this year. Listen to these guys, spend your money somewhere else.
The rears only do about 25% of the braking, but with a big brake kit in the front, it's often useful to go a little bigger in the rear to balance it out so you're not overworking the fronts and underworking the rears, leading to problems with lockup and increasing stopping distances.
Even the stock 4 lug brakes should be fine, unless you're planning on taking it to the track. Also, don't bother with fancy rotors like powerslots, they offer no advantages and are more expensive, just get the cheapest generic rotors you can find from a local parts store like NAPA, they're decent quality and a lot cheaper. They'll perform just as good as powerslots or whatever. Its the pads that do the braking, the rotor's just there to give it something to rub against.
