Rusty Fuel
Hey guys,
Well, I was replacing my in-tank fuel filter last night, in an attempt to up gas milage (17mpg) and dicovered RUSTY fuel coming out of the return line...
Now, when I replaced my high pressure fuel filter a few weeks ago, I found the same thing... RUSTY fuel, I assumed it was just the fuel filter, however I was going to check up on later... Never did...
Anyway, some input as to the problem and the solution would be greatly appreciated, I have searched and I also did check the gas tank, and it looked fine...
Thanks

the only place rust gets into the tank, is either the gas itself from the pump, or the tank.
Your tank must have rusted baffels.
drain the tank to make sure.

So, another question, where do I get a new tank? Or depending on the condition of it, where do I get it repaired and lined? Also, is that the only thing that would be damaged from the rust? The fuel lines and stuff wouldn't get damaged?
Thanks for the help!

The rusty fuel could also come from rusty fuel lines. Check out your fuel lines and make sure that they are not flaking. If so the rust could have gone all the way through in some areas causing very very slow leaks you may not see and also causing rusty fuel
