running lights dont work...
so my running lights stopped woking on me, tails, spedo, everything but my headlights... The stock wiring harness that plugs into the headlight switch fried and was hooked up a to a switch to make the running lights turn on. I replaced the whole harness and still nothing...
Checked the fuses and there all good...
What else should I be checking for? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
-and yes I looked on the faq for this problem...

Only wire colors mean anything to me. Last time I looked it was a white/green wire that provides power from the fuse. There's been about twelve dozen threads in the last yr that talk about your problem. They even have the wiring schematics attached to them.
Chunk all test lights in the Thames and get a digital volt meter.
The plug should ape the jpgs attached. You get a jumper wire and jumper b/t the white/green and the red/black. Tail lights now turn on. If not...........fuse is blown........or wiring is corrupt.........or the wrong headlight harness is in the car.

White/green has power 24/7. No key required. It's on a battery bus.
Illumination fuse any good?

problem solved.
for mine, if you take off the cluster surround and look at the plug for the switches on your left hand side (signals, lights etc etc) take it out. look at the connectors and see if any are fried. if so, go buy a new one, for the time being if you wiggle it around, they should turn on.
hope this helps

well... tried the switch nothing... the new harness i bought didnt help it either. So I broke down and sent it to a shop and guess what??? Nothing... Its a deeper problem somewhere in the main harness. Dont feel like hunting it down so Im thinking of bypassing it somehow. Any suggestions??? LMK.
Thanks

Your wiring harness burnt up due to corrosion in your exterior lighting circuit, most of the time in the bulb sockets. Your relay might have also burnt up in your headlight switch. PM or search for the user "Pele" on this forum. He rebuilds Headlight and wiper switches for a good price. I believe he warranties them as well if you have him install a relay on your headlight wiring harness in additon to getting the switch rebuilt.
I'm 100%sure that is you problem.
