Rich/Lean screw question..

I was thinking of trying to squeeze a little more power out of my car by slightly advancing the timing, and maybe leaning it out via the R/L screw. Before I did this I just wanted to know if it was possible to lean it too much via this screw, or if I should just crank it all the way lean? Is there really a noticable HP increase in doing this, or should I just leave it alone? Thanks.

That is the idle mixture screw. Don't mess with it.

You can adjust it all you want. It only effects idle .

Ahh..ok thanks. The only reason I asked is because I thought I remembered someone saying that you could lean out the fuel mixture via that screw. I got kinda excited OK though, I wont mess with it then

If you want to tune fuel, get the S-AFC. It does a great job.

Yea, but I dont think my mods list warrant the need for the S-AFC yet. I just thought I could do a little with the screw. Guess not.

You don’t have to have any mods to fit an S-AFC. You said you wanted to squeeze a little bit more power out of you car, and that’s exactly what the S-AFC can do, by leaning out the very rich top end mixtures. This is best done on a dyno though.

My idle does not change at all when I move the screw!!! Initial set is jumped when doing so (Just in case)
Also it does not do any diference in my TPS in other words I can't tune the TPS. If I move the sensor itself it makes the light turn on but not by moving the screw.
