Replacing water pump seal! Anything else?

Tomorrow I am going to tear everything off the front of my engine to replace the water pump seals. While I'm at it I am replacing my fan clutch.

Anything else I could do while it's apart?

I was thinking the Oil Thermo Bypass Pellet Shim mod. Or removing everything and going to pre-mix.

Any suggestions.

TIA

Are you rebuilding the water pump?
Or just replacing the mounting gaskets?

You really don't have to tear the car that far down to do the water pump - I'd just replace the water pump and be done with it. You'll be adding a lot to do the oil pellet at that time - that bolt is a pain to break loose!

Also... figure while I'm at it.. might as well do some of the other things I have been thinking about... probably going to put on my new alternator too. Replacing all my hoses that are down under there, and replacing all my belts...

Might as well make the time worth while.

Might as well replace the whole water pump if you're going that far. They're cheap...

Replace the water pump. Unless you like to work on your car. Make sure you buy TWO seals. The first being water pump to housing the second being housing to engine. Also it is a good idea to use some sort of sealant.

Get new hoses. That would be a good idea.
