does anyone know where i can get a key made without haveing the orginal. help please

Locksmith. I had one made for my Chevy when I broke the key, cost 60 bucks.

If you own a second gen, use any of your buddy's second gen key- it will probably work



Unless you regularly spray lube in them...

But seriously- go to the dealer with the vin, as mentioned above.

same thing happened to me. take off your passenger door panel, look for a number thats not that long, i think its either on the door solenoid or somewhere on the door. take it to mazda and they will make you one for around 4 bucks..as long as you have that number!

yeah, pretty much any fc key will work. hah. so does mazda provide keys with black rubber/plastic key ... handle, thingers? i can't find one anywhere, and all i have is a crappy all metal key.

Or, if it was like my car when I had a key cylinder, you could use a first gens' key, too My dad's key started my car fine.

i just lost my second gen key but i coudnt get the key code off of the lock cylinder.... anyone have the code by chance? (i hope that isnt an illegal quetion)

despite the remarks above, they are different from car to car. I have two FCs and the keys are NOT interchangeable.

Take your title up to a dealer and have them make you one.
In my area, they at least want some proof you own the car.

thanks, i appreciate the response.... i was just a little sceptical, when i gave my vin to the dealer here he returned with a key code of 11111. that just didnt seem right and i thought there might be another way to do it.
