you need a dual belt pulley on your alternator for your fan, unless you have an e-fan

You should get a dual alternator pully to spin the water pump without worry.

Did you get the needed block off plates? They would sure help here. There is a guy on ebay that sells all 4 or 5? for around $35.00. The exhaust leak is probably back pressure?

Okay, i'm new to the rx7, so what exactly is the air pump there for and also why do you remove it? Horse power gains? less weight? What is it?

umm i really don't see what taking your air pump off has to do with your newly aquired exhaust leaks, i coulden't imagine. and i really need to know if you have an s4 or s5, the air pump serves different purposes in the diff genereations, and don't want to write everything to check for both...

Okay, the air pump is used for emissions, it puts clean air into the exhaust so the total number of particles per cubic foot or whatever is smaller, that's all it is there for. The air pump serves the same purpose on them all, however, if you have a S5, the air pump also provides the necessary air to your cat for the exhaust pick up to open your 6pi (PM me, I know this stuff pretty good after my noob ordeal a few months back). Because the air pump goes into your catalytic converter, you need block off plates once it's been removed or you get an exhaust leak. I've got a few pics I'll find of my cat, you can see the pickup tube for the 6PI.

Also, air pump removal doesn't do much for youu performancewise, I'm using mine for more power actually...

only thing i could think of that would creat an exhaust leak is if the air pump was removed and that air tube that runs to the cat was removed or unhooked also....

you dont have to 100% have a duel belt pully. it will work ok with out if the belts tight, but for safty measure id run duel belts cause its very bad if u lose your water pump belt!!! overheat FAST!
