removal of the flywheel

I got way to much stuff I wasnt looking for when I searched. umm in the haynes manual it says to use a thing that bolts to the block and locks onto the ring gear to stop the flywheel from moving. but I dont happen to have one laying aroundso do you guys have any easyier ways to stop it from moving when pulling the flywheel off or will I have to build a thingy like in the hayns manual¿

I had to custom build something. Not many options on this one.

Two ways to do this, friend:

- Use a big impact gun to zap the thing off (I prefer)

- Use the flywheel stopper that Mazdatrix sells if you're using hand-tools (this tool does come in handy later on for other things)

Dude, go to the 2nd generation forum, and scroll through the past three or four days.. there'll be maybe 4 or 5 pages, it'll take you a few minutes to find the one..

Or better yet, search for Barwick and the last few days.

No.. just browse through the last few days, you'll find it.

second one from the top I believe

Don't worry, just work with what you've got to search through things.. it's easy.

i used an long angle iron to lock the flywheel then i used a 4 foot long pipe on the breaker bar and it got the flywheel nut off . if the flywheel is stuck after you get the nut off. whack it a few times with a block of firewood.... its ghetto but it works
