Just wondering how long it will take for my lines to fill up and if there are any special conditions I can put my motor under to speed up the process. Im running premix in the meantime.

The lines should fill up completely within 5min. A way to speed it up is to hold the oil metering control rod up as high as it'll go for 5min, then they're sure to be full.

5min idle wont hurt the car unless you have been running it with out oil in the first place. if your scard add some oil to your gas tank

Just be safe and add some premix to the tank. You can get a small bottle for a few bucks at walmart.

The car will be just fine without oil from the OMP for a few minutes... just let it idle for a while.

Now obviously if the car had NO oil at all, it would only last a few seconds before it dies a horrific death.

Reach down there and loosen the four banjo bolts that hold the lines to the pump. Loosen them at least a full turn. Drive the thing for a couple of miles and then idle it. There should be ol dripping. If so, I'd retighten the lines and then go for a five or so mile drive and look at the lines again.

You sure the lines don't have oil? Maybe it's not dirty oil and the clean oil is hard to recognize?

Know that I have a S4 without a electrical omp and know squat about the elect pump. But I'm suggesting that if you loosen the banjo bolts you'll *prime* the lines and once retightened they will now fill.

Since you have put oil in the gas tank, flog the darn car for a while. That should result in more oil flow.

i'm sure there is oil in the lines, you probably just can't see it very well if it is clean oil.

yeah i was worried about this back a while ago too after reassembling the engine....

i was just used to seeing black oil run through it ...

the oil is probably really clean and not as easily detectable at first glance

keep your eye on it though .. cant hurt to be paranoid about it

Alright, I am quite certain that the lines have not filled. Loosened the bolts and some oil seeped out from around them, but nothing through the lines. What gives?

I usually pre-fill the lines with a syringe (at the oil injector end). Also make sure the vent hoses at the top of the oil injectors are not blocked and that they are not connected to manifold vacuum.

trying searching for a thread on this forum about replacing your OMP lines, I followed their instructions and used clear tubing, its really nice and you clearly see if there is any oil in there and if its flowing, its pretty easy and inexpensive too. When you turn the engine off the oil will run back down out of the tubes of course... Try driving the car around giving it some pedal and then park it and idle, loosen the bolts on the OMP lines, then pull up on the OMP rod that is connected to the throttle body, you dont have to rev the engine, just hold the pump rod up, then you should DEFINITELY have some oil coming out of the loose banjo bolts at the OMP, as long as you loosened them enough. nasty run on sentance..

If you have a mechanical pump, just start the engine. Hold the revs around 2000 rpm while you lift up on the OMP rod at the throttle body. You could zip tie it full up. I'd say it takes about fifteen minutes for the lines to fill up.

OR zip tie the OMP rod up and go drive the car for fifteen or twenty minutes. They should have filled up by twenty minutes for sure. No oil in the lines???? Something was done wrong.

I don't know if I'd recommend that. If you fully pre-fill them, you can't visibly see if they're working. If you don't pre-fill them, it's pretty obvious if they aren't. But, I guess partially pre-filling wouldn't be bad.
