rebuilt bridgeport engine swap
rebuilt bridgeport engine swap
Hello guys, first off i just want to say that i am fairly new to the whole rotary thing so please be kind. so a little history. i sold my accord for an rx7 behind my parents backs. =]. i bought an 89 gtu for 1300. the exterior just needs paint and the interior is there, just really needs to be cleaned and a few pieces missing. the engine was strong but now i am going to need a rebuild. i have deceided on a half bridgeport. my question is how hard will it be to buy a shell and basically swap in everything needed to make that shell run. ive got a few mechanically smart friends with their own rx7s to help me but i just want to know if there is a manual out there somewhere or if there is a website detailing me on how to go about doing this.
thank you

In order to run a half-bridge, you will need a full standalone EFI system and a new intake manifold to eliminate the VDI (which doesn't play well with high overlap ports).
It's a LOT of work for a first project.
Not true at all. You may be speaking about the aux bridge, in which case it's partly true depending on how it's implemented.

Also from what I've read you'll not get anything from a half-bridge port except for the messed up idle
