They are not the same. The one in the catalog is not the wide fender. I have the catalog as well and I saw the car in person in Japan and I took all those photos myself. thank you.

I'm in for the Hood as well. We need 9 more to commit. That hood rocks!! Especially with the front end.

S5 direct boltup.

S4, you'll need to put the black rubber gasket on the new front end. You have one on your stock front end so thats no problem. I'm not sure if you got an S5 hood if this would eliminate that. I was also thinking on the S4 you will need to have your bodyman fill in a small gap where it comes against the lower front fender right in front of the tire. There is a page out there dedicated to this specific issue if I can find it i'll post it.

That front end is the Shiznat!!!

Chuck, thank you for taking the initiative to make a copy of that kit. Its nice to see someone so committed to the FC community. I'll definitely be ordering one, hopefully over the summer when money isn't so tight (I'm a college student). I have a feeling that you'll sell a tone of these things...

Copied from a post of mine on No Pistons

Any of you guys realize that you can buy this bumper from RE Amemiya for $1000-$1100 with yen conversion, and you get lights, and bumper, and its the genuine article, just pay a tad more for shipping.
Rotary Extreme, since theyre so cheap, maybe you could have the real one with HIDs for like $200 extra, wouldn't sell as many copies but would still sell them.

Yeah like Node said. Don't cheap out. By the real thing. Show your support that RE Amemiya and others are still showing for our beloved FC. Because there ARE other RX7's besides the FD

What FC_Iria said. Basically, why not pay a few extra dollars to buy the real deal. Show Amemiya that his products are really having an effect on the US side of the scene. By creating replicas, you only hurt the US/JPN FC relations.

I love that front clip. Probably the best looking kit for the FC out there in my mind. If you will still be selling these later in the year, such as Sept/Oct area, then I will probably wanna get one.

There will probably be a fitment issue on S4's. Apparently our S4 fenders don't flare out as much on the leading edge. Remember my issue with the feed replica chin? Wormiez got it back and besides the crack in the leading edge of the spoiler, it fit a S5. I repeat, it wasn't even close on my S4. Perhaps a set of S5 fenders will cure this problem or maybe corksport's wide fronts.

Dudes.... it is not a "few" extra dollars... When was the last time you guys imported something from Japan... shipping a front end will cost you $300+. And you will have to find someone to do it too... because unless someone is already setup for distribution, it is $$$ to just get stuff on your own.

And the companies that ARE setup to get these bumpers sell them for $1700!!! Sorry but that is not a "few" extra dollars.

RXecret7.com $1680
Corksport $1730
RotaryExtreme $1750

And that is just 3, i know there are others for probably more...

And to make even more sense out of the matter... The reason Chuck is selling the bumper with no lights is because he is giving you the option to purchase your own lights for it at the same quality of the lights that come with the bumper... So you can actually get the front end for $8-850 with the same lighting as the original, Chuck is offering very high quality hella's in his $1000 setup... better lighting than the RE Amemyia light setup...

So I don't know about you guys... but half price is a pretty good deal.

New info

Hello guys:

The price Node posted is totally wrong. The Japanese list price is 148,000 Yen. Right now the exchange rate is 115 to a dollar if you go to the bank and wire transfer the money to Japan. So the converted price is $1287. In Japan, you have to pay the 5% sales tax no matter what, even for exporting. That brings it up to $1351. RE Amemiya does have a car club that gives the member 10% off. That will bring the price down to $1215 but since you are in America, you don't get to join. When the bumper gets here, you have to pay for tarrif and also shipping. Tariff is 5% shipping is $250 to $500 depending on whom you ship with. So the cheapest you can get it will be $1525.00 assuming you are able to join the RE Amemiya car club

Don't get me wrong. I love to sell original products and I do sell it too and I will sell it to you if you pay for it. I will sell you either one. I never push anyone to buy replica. I do have customers asking for original parts and they get what they ask for.

The bumper was designed to fit the 89-91 FC. If you have the 88 and older, there is going to be gaps between the hood and the bumper and also gaps between the bumper and the fender. For the gap between the hood and the bumper, you will have to use the factory gasket and put it on the new bumper. For the gap between the fender and the bumper, there is really nothing you can do about it other than asking the bodyshop to use some fiberglass to fill it up.

Bomex usa has some photos of their 89-91 bumper fitted on a 88 and older car showing where the gaps are.

First of all, I give RE Amemiya as much business as I can. I bought at least 30k worth of products from them. And I plan to buy more and I will continue to promote their products to people who can afford them. For people with more money, please buy the original and I do sell it. If you buy more, I get better prices from RE Amemiya and it will be cheaper. Who is down?

Just want to let you guys know, The lighting on the RE Amemiya original one sucks. They use the same IPF lights on the 3rd gen sleeklight kit. I had one before and they suck *** so I made my own HID kit which is 10 times better.

So you can do this. Get the original bumper and get my HID kit with Hella lights which will come with all the brackets for you to bolt onto the RE original bumper. If you do that, you are going to spend about $2375. You will get the original bumper and the best lighting you can get on FC or you can get the replica with HID for $1500 and save $875. The choice is really yours. I make money on both original and replica so I am happy either way. =)

BTW, the prices on my website under the RE Amemiya link is old. Go to this link for the updated prices

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/tokyoautosalon2003.html

Now the original bumper is $1580. Be prepared to wait about 2-3 months to get it though. I ordered the one you see 3 months ago.

Chuck there is no need for you to defend what you do here. I thank you for bringing products to the market that are more in line with the US $. I can appreciate the interest in the original product but I find that most products direct from Japan are tax refund options only and then you have to wait a while to get them. I'm sick of people complaining about price or originality of a product when the US market for the FC3S is as limited as it is. Stop complaining and embrace this guys. All the goodies for our cars are in Japan it's about time SOMEONE caters to us HERE.

Chuck anything new on that low profile pop up kit we discussed like the Knight Sports Kit

Thanks,
Dave

I would like to know this as well? I had planned on letting my bodyshop fill the gap but if S5 fenders will solve the problem then thats Mo Betta!!

Hehehe.. Let's have a math class in here.

exchange rate: 115 Yen to a Dollar (Don't be fooled by the exchange rate on the net. Go to your local bank and try to get some Yen and see how much the real rate is)

148,000 Yen / 115 Yen = $1287

with Japanese 5% sales tax: $1351

with Import tax (5%, assuming we are lucky): $1418

freight shipping: $250 (super cheap rate, you have to ship a lot to get this rate)

Total: $1418+$250=$1668

I do get discout buying RE stuff but not much. I can offer it at cheaper price than anyone else simply because I use our own container. Seriously, if you can get it for $1000 landed, I will buy it from you. Everyone should.
