Talking Rats nest removal. Started early. Couple of last questions.

Ok I am about to run the vaccume lines for the stuff that is needed. The little lack thing that connects to the oil filler neck: does it need to stay or do I just block it off at the filler necr and UIM? I think I figured out that the FPR vaccume line goes to the nipple under the BAC valve am I correct? The rat's nest includes the places where you bolt down the UIM on the driver's side of the car: what do I do? leave them off and just bolt down the passenger's side or do I have to cut them off of the rat's nest?

Thanx guys.

the 2 nipples on the oil fill tupe are to be left open. either with breather filters or a catch can with a filter.

cap off the nipples on the of the UIM where the the oil fill line went to.

not sure on the rest as turbo UIM is different.

If you don't provide some form of postitive crankcase ventilation you will have condensation deposites on the inside of the filler neck. (looks like brownish-white splooge) Catch cans don't prevent this, they simply accomodate for it and appease the track offficials. (who worry about oil leaking onto the track under hard breaking/cornering)

I cut the lines off the brackets for my intake manifold and reinstalled them. They're not entirely necessary, but don't weigh much and keep things lined up when pulling the upper intake manifold off. I also modified one of them for my engine torque brace. (quite convienient having it there actually)

I have a few pics up on my site from doing some of this work. Nothing too close up though. Pretty good pic of the lower intake manifold being blocked and plugged.

I now regret not painting my motor when I rebuilt it. Oh well. I might be selling the car anyways. Any takers?

Ported, welded and painted UIM.

A wider shot of the first one.

I also have the yoohoo blet going right now and am in the process of aquiring parts for my pneumatic aux port actuation. (will be completed when car is sold btw) The actuation is going to be hands down by far the pimpest most reliable system anyone has ever seen.
