I have a 90 GTU and mine goes like so:
1st-40mph
2nd-60mph
3rd-100mph
4th-130ish
5th-no increase

Mine is stock (minus exhaust and intake) and has a few things wrong with it. Know that I'm redlining 1st through 3rd to get those speeds out of it. That's usually about 8.1k rpm. Also, I have a s5 N/A so I don't redline until 8k. And I have never been able to officially top mine out. It has had problems since I bought it. The fastest I have ever gotten it is about 128ish in fourth at around 7k rpm.

When my s4 NA was stock I got her to around 138 mph in 4th... I was at around 7500 RPM, 5th gear you will not gain any speed.

i think your numbers are about 10 mph off.

1st - 30 mph
2nd - 55 mph
3rd - 85-90 mph
4th - 120 mph
5th - 135-140 mph

these numbers all slightly vary depending on if you have extra passengers/weight, and wind im sure.

1st- 36
2nd- 62
3rd- 91
4th- 120something
5th- ????

And my uncle, who owned the car before me,

the car's got no mods, just some crap switched out with S5 stuff.

Anyone think he's tellin the truth? I've got her up to 125 in 4th...

If you have a base model with the H rated tires you cant go past 130 anyway. Thats about what my na maxed out at.

I think you can accelerate in 5th gear if you have enough power to do it. I have a streetported motor, full exhaust, intake and a few other things.

I have lower profile tires than stock...lower profile means lower top speed and better acceleration in the gears. Stock is 205 60 15, mine are 205 50 15"

Redlined at 7000rpm
1st- 33mph
2nd- 58 mph
3rd -85 mph
4th - 117mph
5th- 168 mph (not that you will ever hit 7000rpm in 5th), Im guessing my car will do 150mph maxed out, but I dont plan on doing it.

Redlined at 7500rpm

1st- 36 mph
2nd - 62mph
3rd - 91 mph
4th - 125 mph

Ive actually never redlined 4th gear, but I know those are the speeds the car will reach because I found out using a speed calculator that inputs all gear ratios and tire size and gives speed according to rpm.

My car has about 180-190 peak hp at the flywheel, and around 160 lbs of peak torque, to the wheels it would be about 160-170whp, 135 wtq. (this is all guessing estimates, I've never been dynoed)

Stock being 146 hp, and 138 torque at the flywhee, about 115-125 whp, and 117wtq.

when i bought my 87 NA and finally got it running, i hit 45mph in 5th gear at probably 8500 rpm. needless to say, after i tore it apart, i was running on 2 apex seals in the front.
now that i have my rebuilt TII engine in, ive hit a little over 150 (speedo stops at 150) so, maybe 153, 154, 155? but you guys are talking NA, so, ill let you be.

The numbers don't vary depending on weight, wind, incline, etc... They're set via gearing. At a certain RPM in a certain gear you will be going a certain speed. However, the extra weight, wind, etc. will help determine how fast (or slow) you get to that rpm/speed.

Anyways, here's my numbers on a 86 Sport with stock rims/wheels.

At redline:
1- 30
2- 60
3- 90
4- ??
5- ??

Speed Story

It was around 4am Dawn on a dual road in the UK, I had 20 miles till the next speed camera. so it was on
I was in 5th at around 95mph , my normal cruising speed, I slowly and gradually opened the throttle until I was maxed out at 150mph. Still i had the pop-ups up though!
I Dropped the lights and started to accelerate again till i reached just over 160mph where it reached it's equalibrium, I drove at that speed for around 15miles. Did not take long at all!
I was passing other vehicles on the road like they were stationary them doing 60-70mph me doing 160mph , SEE YA

Just to note My car back then was a turbo II, Street port with front intercooler, Redom ECU, 255 fuel pump, De-cat, Boost controller and 3mm seals.

Haha, yeah in the U.S. someone would probably cut you off going 50mph in the fast lane. Welcome home chaps.

At 4 in the morning, on a road i know well 95 mph is a safe crusing speed. At that time UK cops wouldn't even pull you over!
