Mid to high 16s. If 1/4 mile is what you are referring to.

Icemark, those numbers seem a little high...

They are slow, but not quite that slow. My 88 GTU, completely stock, did a 16.3@86 with me driving. i think Motortrend squeezed a 16.2 out of them @86. ive seen a 16 flat before, stock.

For a vert, expect high 16s if you are a decent driver.

Just going off of what Mazda, R&T, and MT published for their tests of the 'vert back in the late 80's and early 90's.
For example the aug 89 MT found the auto tranny vert to do the numbers I posted exactly.

They also (in the same issue) found the 89 T2 to do 0-60 in 6.4 and the 1/4 mile in 15.01@93.7 so I tend to agree with the numbers

the other thing to remember is that the GTU is 200+ lbs lighter than even the 88 'vert (which was also saddled with a 3.9 rear end instead of 4.1).

BTW: I have the the 88 GTU did a 8 second 0-60 and a 16 sec 1/4 mile @ 87 mph

North American verts all came with a 205/60-15 on a 15"x6.5" wheel
